FREE Pre-Game Fun!

One Hour Youth Skills Clinic 

Sunday, June 9, 2019 | 4:30 - 5:30 pm | Alfond Stadium at Harper-Shepherd Field

Before the Celebrity Softball Game, well-recognized coaches and professional baseball players will share their passion for the game and help youth develop their hitting, batting and catching skills in this one hour clinic...right on the Rollins College baseball field!

With a purchase of a Celebrity Softball Game ticket, youth can be registered for this pre-game clinic!

This youth clinic is intended for any and all youth ages seven (7) to fifteen (15), boys and girls.

Registration:  4:00 - 4:15pm
Starts:  4:30pm

5:30pm

General Information

Objective: The participants will be instructed in four phases of the game: Hitting, Catching, and Fielding.  This camp is designed for kids to learn the game as well as develop their skills.

 

Facilities: The camp will use the Alfond Stadium at Harper-Shepherd Field, home of Rollins College baseball team!

 

Spectators Attendance: Parents, families and friends are welcome to watch the daily activities in the stands (with your pre-purchased tickets) or down the fence lines. Observers may not enter the field or cage area at any time. We kindly ask that you not give personal instruction to campers during the clinic to eliminate confusion.

 

What to Bring: Players will need a bat (only if they have one), glove, & water bottle. Please be sure to write participant’s name on all personal items as we will not be responsible for lost items. However, if equipment is lost please report to coaches immediately.  Water and Powerade provided.

 

Check-in

4:00 - 4:15pm!

Please check in 30-45 minutes before the start of camp in front of the stadium.

Parking Information

Some parking will be allowed in the main lot.  Spots are also available in a lot adjacent to the rear of the field.  There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood surrounding the field.

Joe Logan, Director of Pre-Game Clinic & Executive Director of BRO

Mr. Joe Logan is the Owner and Head Coach of the Orlando Reds, a local travel baseball team.  In this capacity, Mr. Logan has trained young baseball players for nearly 20 years, teaching them not just the fundamentals of the sport, but also the importance of teamwork, discipline, accountability, and both winning and losing with grace.  He stresses the importance of giving back and involves his team in several philanthropic efforts each year.   Several of his players have achieved Major League Baseball success, but his ultimate goal is to prepare players to succeed in every aspect of life.  Mr. Logan is a former professional pitcher with the Montreal Expos.  He won a national championship and was an All-American at Florida Southern College.  Additionally, he and MLB Hall of Fame great Barry Larkin have an off-season training program they conduct with professional baseball players.  As a Baseball Ambassador with the US State Department's "Sports United" program, he has traveled internationally for the past 8 years to help strengthen relations between American and other countries through the universal appeal of sports.  As Executive Director, responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of BRO and administering the programs and policies of the Board of Directors.
